Madras HC's important order on '2.0' release

Piracy has been a long-standing issue affecting the fortunes of Tamil films. '2.0' has been produced by Lyca Productions on a gigantic budget of Rs.600 crores. earlier today. the film's producer has approached the Madras High Court seeking a ban on illegally releasing the Shankar directorial in illegal online portals.

While the petition came up for hearing today, a lawyer representing Telecom service companies has said there is already a Court order restraining the release of pirated versions of new Tamil films in online portals.

Noting this the honorable Judge has ordered for the copy of the judgment referred by the lawyer and he has also issued an order restraining the release of '2.0' in 3,000 websites. The Judge has assured to give detailed order regarding this tomorrow when the petition will be heard again.
