Four members of a family from Madhya Pradesh's Datia have been arrested when the father was found guilty of murdering his alcoholic son along with his family after the man allegedly repeatedly raped his mother, sister, and sister-in-law.

When the body of the deceased man was recovered from the Gopaldas hill area on November 12, the post-mortem reports revealed that he was strangulated to death. When the family members were questioned regarding the same, the father of the man confessed to murdering him with the help of his family as they could no longer stand his extremely abusive behaviour. An official involved in the case reportedly said, "After his identification, it was found that he was an alcoholic and that his family members were fed up with him. When we questioned the family they admitted to killing their son as he used to rape his mother, sister and brother's wife after getting drunk." On the night of November 11, the alcoholic allegedly attempted to rape his brother's wife when the enraged father strangulated him.

Four of the family members, including the father, have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody after they were presented in court on Monday.
