There have been rumors about a biopic on legendary choreographer Saroj Khan. While it's been revealed that Bhushan Kumar will be bankrolling the project, there has been no announcement about the director or the lead actor for the film. Dancer and filmmaker Remo D'Souza was interested in acting as the director but it seems like he's out of the project now.

Remo said, "Yes, I had spoken to Sarojji expressing an interest to make her biopic. I was also talking to her daughter Sukaina. But no disappointment, it's okay. It's a family matter, it's their decision. Bhushanji, I guess, shall soon take a call on who's directing it."

On the other hand, Saroj Khan's daughter, Sukaina, had a special request for the movie. She wanted actress Madhuri Dixit to be the narrator of the film as she shared an intimate bond with Saroj Khan. About involvement of Bhushan Kumar, Sukaina said, "Well, he contacted us for the rights. He started talking to us about six months after Mom passed away. My brother Raju Khan (a noted choreographer in Bollywood) felt that he would be the right person for our mother's biopic. Plus, he churns out movies at a fast pace. We want Mummy's story to be told soon."

As for the lead cast, actress Janhvi Kapoor is the top choice as of now.
