Madhur Bhandarkar thanks Tabu for 'Chandni Bar'

Released in 2001, Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Chandni Bar' made everyone to sit up and take notice of this talent house. This was the second film of the helmer, after he made his directorial debut with 'Trishakti', which failed poorly to make an impression. But with the Tabu starrer 'Chandni Bar' Bhandarkar went on to create a powerful niche for himself in the industry by bringing up similar realistic movies, all of which were highly acclaimed.
Coming back to 'Chandni Bar'.... The movie, which completed ten years of its release on Wednesday, was critically acclaimed hit, also winning four National Film Awards. Talking about the achievement and recollecting his initial days, Bhandarkar wrote on his mico-blogging site: "2day marks 10 yrs of 'Chandni Bar's' release. A spl thx 2 d producer R Mohan. He showed faith in me even after d disaster of 'Trishakti'."
As the title denotes, 'Chandni Bar' revolved around bar girls and Mumbai underworld. Tabu won National Award for Best Actress while Atul Kulkarni bagged the National Award for Best Supporting Actor. Besides, Ananya Khare got Best Supporting Actress while the movie received National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues.
Adding further, Bhandarkar said, "'Chandni Bar' got 4 National Awards. Can never forget d feeling. Thx Tabu fr believing in me & givin a flawless prfrmnce in 'Chandni Bar'. No1 cld hve dne it bttr."
