Madhu Shalini proud of her Department role

You can't help it if someone acting in an RGV film boasts of his or her role. Madhu Shalini, the Department actress, for one, says that she is proud of working with the likes of Amitabh Bacchan and Sanjay Dut, even while adding that she is not being a brag in saying that her role will be the talk of the town after the release of Department.

She makes it a point to make a mention about how RGV did not ask her to shed a few kilos or gain a few kilos for the role. He accepted Madhu Shalini as herself and cast her in the substantial role. She adds that the role would be much talked-about after the release of the film. This is not a blink-your-eyes-and-you-will-miss-it kinda role. Mine is a very intense role, she clarifies about her role as a Mafia girl in the multi-starrer movie.

Only recently, there was a talk that hers is a wafer-thin role here. You have to watch the film before making any assumptions. Until and unless my character wasn't important, Ramu sir wouldn't have retained it and cast an actor to enact that. You know how he is. To answer your question though, the role is pretty substantial and would definitely leave an impact. Also, going by the number of days I have shot for the film, I know where it truly stands, she was recently quoted as saying.

There is a story related to how she landed the role in the big film. Varma chanced upon her pics and clippings in Vaadu-Veedu, and that was how he chose to cast her. Lucky you, Shalini!
