Remember Madhu Shalini who was recently seen in King? The belle is all set to foray into Bollywood, that too with a big-ticket film like Department. The Hyderabad ammayi may have failed to make a footprint in Tollywood, but she might well get the chance of her career with Department.

Ram Gopal Varma has signed Madhu Shalini for a role in Department. She is expectedly on a cloud nine. "The film is set against cop-underworld nexus. It will be more like a sequel to RGV's earlier films like Satya and Company. It's pretty much unconventional; it is not about a hero, a heroine and a villain but does away with the formulas".

Madhu Shalini plays a gangster in this multi-starrer and shares screen space with stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Rana Daggubatti in 'Department'.

She talks about her role, saying, "My character is that of a daring gangster, who never gives up. She can be extreme at times, depending on how people treat her and can get dangerous if people get her one her way."

The film will go to the floors in the first week of September will see an early 2012 release. "I am excited about the film and the role I play as I haven't done such films before nor have seen such a character on-screen", she signs off.
