Madhavan's son Vedaant is a budding sportsman who has already won a medal for India in a swimming event conducted at Thailand. Now he has once again done his dad and the country proud by winning his second at the Asian Age Group Swimming Championship tournament underway. At the 4x100m freestyle relay for group II boys the team of Vedaant Madhavan (55.27s), Utkarsh Patil (57.10s), Sahil Laskar (54.83s) and Shoan Ganguly (54.29s) clocked a total time of 3:41.49 seconds according to a TOI report.
