Madhavan after a self imposed exile returned with a bang by delivering two blockbuster hits back to back in the form of 'Irudhi Suttru' and 'Vikram Vedha'.  He is currently recuperating from a sudden surgery on his shoulders which has resulted in him missing out on a big budget Hindi action film 'Simmba' starring Ranveer Singh in the lead.

Madhavan has stated "Hey folks .. So I am a huge crazy fan of Rohit Shetty and his films. As is my son. It breaks both our hearts that I’m not able to be a part of this film because of my injury. I’m well on my way to recovery but this is a huge opportunity and excitement lost".

Maddy once up and running will start shooting for a Tamil/Telugu/Hindi biopic of rocket scientist Nambi Narayanan and director Sargunam's new fantasy adventure film.
