Today is the 48th birthday of Madhavan the pan Indian actor who is celebrated as the evergreen charmer. Maddy came into the limelight as the chocolate boy hero of Mani Ratnam's 'Alaipayuthey' and impressed in films like 'Dum Dum Dum', 'Minnale', 'Run', 'Anbe Sivam' and others.
After a hiatus Maddy stunned everyone with his turn as the villain in 'Ayudha Ezhuthu' , the revolutionary in 'Thambi' and the common man turned vigilante in 'Evano Oruvan'. If you happen to watch the flop film 'Manmadhan Anbu', you will notice that it is Madhavan along with Sangeetha who rise and shine above the hacneyed script. Especially Maddy's progression from one peg of whiskey to alcoholic is a delight.
It is 'Irudhi Suttru' that marked the comeback of Madhavan in an intense role and the fact that he trained for a year to become a boxer and not even have throw one punch in the entire film stands as the evidence for his complete dedication to his character. The came 'Vikaram Vedha' in which he had to not only match performances with an in form Vijay Sethupathi but also play a cop with mixed emotions who slowly learns the thin line between the good and the bad. The performance left us wanting more of Maddy and waiting for his next many masterpieces.
Here is wishing Maddy the acting powerhouse who thankfully retains his chocolate boy charm a very happy birthday and many more years of good health, cheer and entertainment ahead.
