Veteran Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt's much anticipated film 'Shamshera' was finally released on Friday and it garnered largely positive response for the audience. Just a little before the film's release, actor R Madhavan took to Twitter to convey his best wishes to Sanjay Dutt and praised him for giving a menacing performance despite all odds.
Madhavan's tweet read, "Wishing @duttsanjay sir all the very very best for #Shamshera. It’ sooo good and so very motivating to see you look so good and mighty despite all odds.I am sure you will burn up the screen as always and inspire us with the fighter in you.. on and off screen. Much much love."
Apparently Sanjay Dutt was diagnosed with lung cancer while working on 'Shamshera' but he didn't let this disease hinder his performance on set. Talking about the same, director Karan Malhotra said, "The news that Sanjay sir had been diagnosed with cancer came to all of us like a huge shock. We had no idea about it. He was talking, behaving, and working as if nothing has happened. I guess that's why he is where he is today, having conquered this too."
He further added, "Sanjay sir doesn't let anything get the better of him. He is an inspiration on the sets for everyone. It is exemplary how he silently showed us that we too can face life's adversities with a smile on our faces. To me, Sanjay sir is a superman and there is no one like him. I'm indebted for his support towards Shamshera. He is a constant guide and a mentor to me."
