It has not been the best of weeks for Madhavan, the chocolate box hero from Tamil.

The news from the neighboring state is that the hero is facing the wrath of the producers over an alleged derogatory remark in an interview.

But Maddy being Maddy, the eternal charmer, can get over that crisis.

But news closer home is Maddy may not play the hero in Shekar Kammula's Godavari.

Madhavan, it may be recalled, was tentatively pencilled as the hero for Shekar's venture.

The film has been delayed as the director did not get a signal from the actor, one way or the other.

But now Maddy seems to have opted out of it.

So, the big news is that Sumanth may get to play the role.

It is just the right kind of break for the hapless Sumanth. Kamalini Mukherjee is to play the heroine.

GVG Raju (of Tholiprema fame) is the producer.

The film is to go to the floors this month.
