As reported already, the murder of two young girls by their parents in Chittoor's Madanappale has sent shock waves all across. Purushottam Naidu, a highly-qualified Principal of a college, and his wife Padmaja, an IIT trainer who holds a gold medal in Mathematics, killed their daughters Alekhya (27) and Sai Divya (22) with blunt weapons after conducting a ritual at their home on Sunday night. The elder daughter is a civil services aspirant who recently quit her job as an Indian Forest Service officer.
The younger one, who is an aspiring musician training at AR Rahman Music School in Mumbai, had made a post a week or so ago on her social media page. It reads: 'Siva is come. Work is done (sic)'.
As per reports, the cops are studying this post to ascertain whether the victim knew of her parents' plan. A report by Sakshi TV says that the two girls used to participate in the ritual prayers at home sitting in a naked posture.
A colleague of the mother said that she can't believe that she murdered her own daughters. "Padmaja is a rational person. I think she was hypnotized to kill her daughters. She wouldn't do such a horrible thing on her own volition," the female colleague told a TV channel. The mother is believed to have hit the girls on their heads with dumbbells after stuffing something into their mouths.
Medical tests have been conducted on Padmaja and her husband. The bodies of the victims have been sent to the district government hospital for autopsy. A clues team has descended on the place of crime.
