Madana Review
Cast:
Audhitya, Sameeksha, Shobaraj, Bullet Prakash, Lakshmi Musuri, Vishwas Bharadwaj, Ramesh Bhat
Production:
Jai Jagdeesh

The protagonist is a serial killer like Kamal Hassan in 'Sigappu Rojakkal'. He does not plant the rose like Kamal but does the cremation of each and every target of him. That is Aditya in the title role of 'Madana'. A softy turned hard in his outlook is what explained in the second half.

The debut direction of veteran actor Jai Jagdeesh deserved to be better. The novelty is missing here. The screenplay is quite interesting and the inspiration he draws from Tamil film 'Manmathan' (starring Silambarasan) is bit gory for the series of killings. Jai starting from Puttanna Kanagal camp as an actor could have given new thoughts on the screen. The stamp of him is not traceable in this film.

Siblings - Madana and Putta (played by Aditya) are studying in a college at Bangalore and Mysore respectively. Madana is dashing while Putta is extremely innocent. For this innocent Putta it is Vaishnavi (Saaniya) who gives a peck on his cheek in a ragging at college campus. This is the beginning of love journey for Putta and he develops lot of attachment to Vaishnavi. On other hand Vaishnavi ditch him miserably. Putta see from his own eyes Vaishnavi sleeping with another college friend. He gets wild. That results in two murders. He reports this to his brother Madana in Bangalore. Facing insult and committing murder Putta hangs himself that develops lot of hatred in the mind of Madana. He goes in a killing spree. He identifies the girls who ditch their lover.

The police go hapless in the bizarre of killings of Madana. He does not leave his girl friend in the end.

With this story line what Jai is attributing to tell the society is very dangerous. This was not expected from a senior actor cum producer who has turned director from this film. Jai's wife Vijayalakshmi Singh (sister of S.V.Rajendra Singh Babu) is this film's designer. She is also a senior actress in Kannada cinema. How come she has not been able to design a neat film?

Aditya has different shades in this film. He has worked hard and had a good time on screen moving with beautiful girls. Sameeksha is good for nothing. Shobaraj as upright cop has bashing which he normally gets when he plays the villain role. Bullet Prakash has a little in the comedy department.

Yuvan Shankerraj has been disastrous in music. Only one song is good. Camera work by Giri is decent.

Scoring - 4/10

Rating: 0 / 5.0
