Irrfan's breathtaking rendition in the movie has received rave reviews and has been receiving immense appreciation. Post 'Piku' and 'Talvar', the actor has delivered yet another power packed performance with 'Madaari'. The film opened at 4.45 gross worldwide. It collected 3.25 in India and 1.2 overseas.
Interestingly, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is the latest personality who has lauded 'Madaari'. Kejriwal watched 'Madaari' on Friday, and has urged everyone to see the film. "Irrfan Khan 'Madaari'...Amazing movie. Everyone must watch it," Kejriwal tweeted on Saturday night. Irrfan earlier had a candid chat with Kejriwal as part of promotional activity for "Madaari".
The thriller sees Irrfan and director Nishikant Kamat team up again after the award winning 'Mumbai Meri Jaan'. While the film is about taking a stand and shouldering responsibility, it also showcases the bond between a father and son.
Apart from winning kudos for its strong story line, the hard hitting performances of Irrfan Khan, Jimmy Shergill and the child artist Vishesh Bansal have been hugely appreciated. The who's who of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tabu, Kriti Sanon, Rajkumar Rao, Imitiaz Ali, Homi Adjania, David Dhawan, Hansal Mehta and Madhur Bhandarkar among others, have been raving about the movie.
