Popular Tamil producer C.V. Kumar is credited as the man who discovered some of today's most sensational filmmakers such as Pa Ranjith. Karthik Subbaraj, Nalan Kumarasamy and Ramkumar among others. The cult classic films that have come out from his stabe include 'Pizza', 'Soodhu Kavvum', 'Thegidi' and 'Mundasupatti'. He has also directed films like 'Maayavan', 'Gangs of Madras' and the upcoming 'Kortavai'.
Today it has been announced that C.V. Kumar will helm the sequel to his science fiction film 'Maayavan' released in 2017. The film had Jackie Shroff, Sandeep Kishan and Lavanya Tripathi in the lead roles.
Sundeep Kishan is playing the lead again in 'Maayavan 2' with Santhosh Narayanan scoring the music. The auspicious pooja for the Tamil-Telugu-Hindi trilingual was conducted today in Hyderabad on Monday. The rest of the cast and crew details will be revealed soon before the project goes on floors in November.
