Noted director Ram Gopal Varma comes back to Telugu cinema after non-musical film `Bhootam' and introduces new composers Ajay-Atul with his next offering `Maayam'. Varma, who has extracted musical hits from maestros Ilayaraja and A R Rahman besides Keeravani and Sandip Chouta, has tested the skills of the young composers.
Four of the songs are composed my Ajay-Atul and one number - .Nee Love' - by Amar Mohail.
Side A begins with Arudaina Vintha Swapnam, Sung by Kunal, it has a fetching rhythm. Pop idol Sonu Nigam sings Na Lona Nuvve and elevates it with his soulful rendering. Follows Ne Love Neetho by Vinod Rathod in a unique tune composed by Amar Mohail.
Side B begins with Meriseti Indradanasuva rendered by Kunal and Sweta Pandit, a film-music fusion, tops the album. After a repeat of Arudaina Vintha Swapnam, the album closes with the duet You are my Superman by Kunal and Sunidhi Chauhan, with the signature tune of James Bond movies woven into it.
Interestingly, the album mentions the duration of each number.
