It has been officially announced that Sivakarthikeyan's new movie 'Maaveeran' will be releasing worldwide on August 11th this year. The film directed by Madonne Ashwin and produced by Shanti Talkies has Aditi Shankar as the female lead with Sunil and Mysskin in important characters.
Meanwhile there was a buzz that Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' is also hitting the screens on August 10th and it woule be a big box office clash at that time with 'Maaveeran'. The much awaited film directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is produced by Sun Pictures with Anirudh scoring the music. The ensemble cast includes Rajini, Mohan Lal, Shivarajkumar, Sunil, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu.
Sivakarthikeyan earlier today visited the St. Josephs College Trichy where an exhibition of rare photographs of M.K. Stalin was held under the name "Our Chief Minister Our Pride". While speaking to newsmen along with Minister K.N. Nehru a question was posed to Sivakarthikeyan to comment on the 'Maaveeran' vs 'Jailer' box office clash. The obviously irked minister abruptly stood up signaling that the press interaction is over.
Sivakarthikeyan however answered that the 'Jailer' team has not yet officially confirmed about the film hitting the screens on that particular date. It is well known that Siva is an ardent fan of Rajini and will not prefer a clash. Also the director of the film Nelson is also a close friend of his and the duo gave the blockbuster hit 'Doctor'.
