'Maanikya' Mega Opening

The biggest film made in Kannada at a cost of Rs.20 crores has taken too good opening in over 212 theatres. In Majestic surroundings in Bangalore at Santosh and Triveni theatre (very short distance) ‘Maanikya’ exhibition is for the first time. In the history of releases one actor release in two theatres on busiest area of Kempe Gowda road is not enjoyed by anyone.

Sudeep playing the role of ‘Kempe Gowda’ in his previous film befitting one as two theatres for his ‘Maanikya’ goes to the record pages of Kannada film history.

According one calculation 850 shows per day was shown all over Karnataka and 5 lakh plus audience (average 500 audience per show) watched ‘Maanikya’ on the first day giving a gross collection of Rs.3 crores plus.

However in places like Chitradurga and Mandya there was tension when the sound system in the theatre was in good condition. In Mandya ‘Mahaveera’ and Chitradurga district Venkateshwara theatre had bear the losses. When the window glass and seats were damaged the exhibitors pressed for police protection.
