'Maanadu', which hit the screens in November 2021 in Tamil, starred Simbu as the hero. The remake rights of the science fiction action thriller have been with Suresh Productions. The news is that Rana Daggubati has decided to produce its remake in association with Asian Cinemas' Sunil Narang.
The remake will be headlined by Ravi Teja and Varun Dhawan.
As is known, 'PSV Garuda Vega' director Praveen Sattaru will be wielding the megaphone. Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, which is associated with pan-India Telugu projects since 'Baahubali', will be distributing the remake in Hindi territory.
The Tamil original was written and directed by Venkat Prabhu. The villain's role was essayed by SJ Suryah. Kalyani Priyadarshan and others did important roles in it. Since the story is quite commercial and there is a lot of scope to milk its premise and plot, the remake will be ambitious.
As for director Praveen, he is currently busy with Varun Tej's 'Gandeevadhari Arjuna', which is produced by BVSN Prasad on a rich scale.
