'Jiivi' is a supernatural thriller film that was written by Babu Tamizh and directed by VJ Gopinath. The 2019 movie was successful both critically and commercially. Now, VJ Gopinath has written and directed the sequel titled 'Jiivi 2'. Actor SJ Suryah released the 'Jiivi 2' trailer on August 5.

Sharing the trailer, the 'Maanadu' star sarcastically wrote, "Enna thalaivarey? Thirumbavum loop-uh.. Aana ithu vera mathiri irukkey!" (sic). Jiivi 2 is presented by the makers of Simbu's 'Maanadu' which deals with the time loop concept. Jiivi's story revolves around the triangle theory which is about a series of events happening in a person's life repeating itself in their family successors.

Vetri, Karunakaran, Aswini Chandrashekar, Rama, Rohini, Mime Gopi, 'Aruvi' fame Thirunavukarasu are all reprising their characters in the sequel. 'Jiivi 2' is slated to release directly on the Aha Tamil OTT platform later this month. Praveen Kumar is the cinematographer for the film, which has music by KS Sundaramoorthy and editing by Praveen KL.
