Ever since Simbu came back with a different look a couple of months back he has been giving nonstop surprises to his fans and his film crews. Firstly he finished shooting for his new movie 'Easwaran' directed by Suseenthiran within forty days and the film is gearing up for release on Pongal 2021.

Simbu then without taking a single day break moved to Pondicherry to resume the shooting of 'Maanadu' directed by Venkat Prabhu which has been going on continuously for over a month. There wasn't even a break when the Nivar cyclone hit an area very close to Pondicherrry last week.

Now the team has revealed that the current Pondicherry schedule of 'Maanaadu' has been completed and that the entire cast and crew have returned to Chennai. The next schedule is expected to start soon in Chennai itself.

'Maanaadu' a political thriller is produced by Suresh Kamachi with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The ensemble star cast comprises of Simbu, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Bharathiraja, S.A. Chandrasekhar, S.J. Suryah, Karunakaran, Udhayaa, Manoj K Bharathi, Aravind Akash and Premgi Amaran.
