Simbu's comeback movie 'Maanaadu' which after a long delay and last time hiccups finally hit the screens on November 25th. The worldwide collection reports are extremely positive and with excellent word of mouth the time loop thriller is expected to attain blockbuster status soon.

Simbu has played the lead character of Abdul Khaliq in 'Maanaadu' which is praised as one of his career best by fans and critics alike. An interesting bit of news is floating around in Kollywood along with the heavy rains that Chennai is experiencing again.

According to the buzz it all started a decade back when Thalapathy Vijay invited Venkat Prabhu and his team for dinner party in appreciation of the blockbuster hit 'Mankatha' starring Thala Ajith. The sources say that VP then narrated the story of 'Maanaadu' to Vijay who loved the concept and asked him to write the screenplay to suit his image.

The sources further add that due to unforseen circumstances the Vijay-VP combo could not happen at that time and the director decided to cast Simbu instead and the rest as they say is history.
