Simbu's 'Maanaadu' has turned out to be one of the biggest hits in his career and has ringed the bell for his strong comeback. The time loop entertainer directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi has Kalyani Priyadarshan as the leading lady with S.J. Suryah, Y. Gee Mahendra and SAC in important roles.
The success meet of 'Maanaadu' which crossed 25 days at the box office was held in Chennai with most of the cast and crew present. The noticeable absentee was the hero of the film Simbu and a few dignataries expressed their displeasure as well. It was said that the star kid was busy with the shooting of 'Vendhu Thanidhadhu Kaadu' directed by GVM on a set erected at Royapuram Chennai.
Reports have emerged that Simbu wanted a poster to be released announcing that 'Maanaadu' has collected rupees 108 Crores and that it should be displayed prominently at the success meet as well. Suresh Kamatchi on the other hand is said to have refused to do so as according to him the amount was lesser and he did not want trouble with the income tax department.
Other sources claim that since Simbu's father T. Rajendhar had filed a case against Suresh Kamatchi asking for a share in the satellite and digital rights all is not well between the two sides. Anyway the real reason why Simbu did not make it to his comeback movie's success meet will only be known when he decides to open up about it.
