MAA to celebrate 90 years of Tollywood as Navatīhi Utsavam

The Movie Artist Association announces the commemoration of 90 glorious years of Telugu cinema with the grand celebration of Navatīhi Utsavam 2024 this July. Held at the prestigious Park Hyatt in Hyderabad, the announcement was made during a press meet graced by distinguished personalities including MAA President Vishnu Manchu, Vice President Madala Ravi, Treasurer Siva Balaji, esteemed EC Members, and esteemed guests from Malaysia.
Actress Madhumitha eloquently portrayed the magnificence of Telugu cinema since its inception in 1932, shedding light on the remarkable journey of the Movie Artist Association since its establishment in 1993, and the significant strides taken in the past two years. The event was formally inaugurated by Vishnu Manchu, marking the beginning of an exciting journey towards the celebration of Telugu cinema's legacy.
Advisor Datuk P Kamalanathan, who traveled all the way from Malaysia, expressed gratitude to Vishnu Manchu for the opportunity to collaborate with MAA. He commended Vishnu Manchu's unwavering dedication to the welfare of MAA members, emphasizing his tireless efforts in ensuring the well-being of artists and their families. Kamalanathan highlighted the forthcoming grand event in Malaysia, made possible through the collaboration with the Malaysian Government, which aims to showcase the rich cultural exchange between India and Malaysia.
Razaidi Abdul Rahim, representing Malaysia Tourism Director India and Sri Lanka, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, emphasizing the significance of the collaboration between MAA and Malaysia Tourism. He underscored the mutual benefits of this partnership, fostering stronger ties between India and Malaysia while promoting tourism and cultural exchange.
In his address, Vishnu Manchu expressed gratitude to Kamalanathan and the Tourism Department for their support. He reminisced about the inception of the idea to celebrate Telugu cinema's illustrious history two years ago, highlighting the collective effort to make the event a resounding success. Vishnu Manchu announced plans for the grand event in Malaysia, inviting all stakeholders to participate in honoring Telugu cinema's achievements.
Acknowledging the stellar contributions of Telugu cinema to the global film industry, Vishnu Manchu celebrated the achievements of iconic actors and filmmakers. He underscored the importance of supporting MAA's welfare initiatives, particularly for the less privileged members, emphasizing the role of fundraising in realizing this vision. Edwin Anandaraj, representing local event organizer MC Entertainments in Malaysia, pledged to orchestrate a spectacular event, leveraging their expertise in event management to ensure a memorable celebration in Malaysia.
Rahul Reddy of Octopus Studio, a key supporter of the fundraising efforts, lauded Vishnu Manchu's dedication to MAA's welfare initiatives. He highlighted the global significance of the upcoming event, attributing its success to Vishnu Manchu's vision and leadership.
