Maa Oori Polimera emerged as a hidden gem among the 2021 OTT releases, gaining gradual traction and a dedicated fan base despite minimal promotional efforts. The narrative, a tapestry of love, betrayal, and superstitions set against a rustic backdrop, resonated with streaming enthusiasts, garnering impressive viewership on Disney+ Hotstar. Satyam Rajesh, Baladitya, Getup Srinu, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla delivered compelling performances as the lead cast.
Anil Vishwanath's thriller deliberately concluded its first part with a cliffhanger, and the overwhelming response from the audience spurred the makers to venture into a sequel of grand proportions. Maa Oori Polimera 2, the much-anticipated second installment, not only retained the core cast but also introduced fresh faces. Producer Gowr Kriesna successfully helmed both parts, basking in the glow of well-deserved success.
Following the resounding success of Polimera 2 earlier this year, the film is poised for its OTT premiere. Aha, a prominent Tamil/Telugu platform, secured the post-theatrical streaming rights, with the film scheduled for release on December 8. Notably, aha Gold subscribers will enjoy exclusive access a day earlier, a strategy previously employed for the digital release of the enthralling love triangle Baby.
In anticipation of the upcoming premiere, aha took to social media to announce the event: “Mind-Bending Blockbuster #Polimera2 vachestondi, oohinchani twist la tho on aha on 08 Dec. 24 hours early access to aha Gold subscribers.” The film features stellar performances from Chitram Seenu, Ravi Varma, Rakendu Mouli, and Sahiti Dasari, complemented by the musical prowess of Gyaani. The cinematography, skillfully handled by Kushedar Ramesh Reddy, and the editing finesse of Sree Vara contribute to the film's visual and narrative appeal.
Set against the backdrop of Jastipalli, the story revolves around Komaraiah, an auto driver who elopes with Kavitha and settles in Kerala. Unbeknownst to his friends and family in the village, his brother Jangaiah, a constable, is also missing. As mysterious deaths cast a shadow over the village, Ravindra Naik, a newly appointed cop, embarks on a quest for answers, weaving a tale of suspense and intrigue. Maa Oori Polimera promises a cinematic experience that transcends boundaries, blending regional charm with universal storytelling.
