Senior actor Suman has opined that everyone born in India is a local person. He was differing from those who have described Prakash Raj as a non-local entity ahead of the elections to Movie Artists Association. It's known that Prakash Raj is contesting for the post of MAA President and is going to challenge Vishnu Manchu, Jeevitha Rajasekhar and Hema.

Yesteryear hero Suman was today at a private hospital to attend an event marking National Doctors Day. Suman said that it's meaningless to differentiate an actor on the basis of his origins. "As far as I am concerned, I feel every Indian has to be seen as a localite. If doctors and farmers have regional feelings, would we be alive and would we get to eat food? The same goes for all fields," Suman told reporters.
Suman has expressed his takes from time to time regarding controversies at the MAA. In January 2020, when differences between Rajasekhar and Megastar Chiranjeevi cropped up, Suman said that he was in agreement with Chiranjeevi's advice that problems within the MAA have to be resolved behind closed doors without making them public. "Rajasekhar has done a lot for the MAA. He hasn't got recognition for his work," Suman added at that time.
