The Movie Artiste`s Association (MAA) has sought to take recourse to legal action against those entities which malign the image of its members or spread wrong information about certain films.

On Sunday, the organization lodged a police complaint, seeking the authorities' intervention to check online menace that Telugu cinema has been facing. Sivaji Raja, Murali Mohan and other office-bearers at MAA have filed a police complaint against a media outlet that has been allegedly posting maligning information and/or caricatures of actors.

The MAA has earnestly sought to put an end to the scourge of cyber bullying by vested interests, who resort to abuse and threats on social media, all in the guise of "fanism".
