Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known to finish off many games in his 318 ODI matches so far but one match is extra special as he helped Team India beat Australia in Adelaide for the first time ever at that venue. It was the Common Wealth Bank tri-series with Sri Lanka as the third team. Though it was Australia and Sri Lanka who played the finals playoffs, India snatched a remarkable win in the 4th match.
Batting first Michael Clarkes Australia posted a comfortable 269 for 6 and India chasing lost wickets at regular intervals with Sehwag, Kohli and Sharma falling cheaply while opener Gautam Gambhir made a brilliant 92. Dhoni was playing a slow game and commentators even criticised him for letting 13 runs needed in the last over with Ashwin at the other end. Needless to say Ash struggled to put bat to ball and gave much tension for the first two balls and then MSD came on strike and dispatched the next one intot the crowds and with 5 needed from 3 balls Clint Mckay delivered a no ball off which he was caught in the deep. The next ball was into the deep as well and Thala Dhoni scurried for three runs and winning the historic match.
You can watch the final few overs of the breathtaking match in the video below to once again cheer for the helicopter man Mahi.
