The director of art house movies, M. P Sukumaran Nair, holds a special place in the Mollywood industry for his careful selection of themes and artistic excellence with which he creates films.

Almost all of his films like ‘Aparahnam’, ‘Sayanam’, ‘Kazhakam’ and ‘Drishtaantham’ naturally became the favourites of the film juries, which voted most of these films as the years best in award ceremonies.

After a gap of couple of years from his previous ‘Drishtaantham’, which won awards at major festivals, M P Sukumaran Nair will start shooting for his new movie, in a short while.

Titled ‘Raamanam’, the movie is based on the famous literary work ‘Smarakashila’ written by Punathil Kunjabdulla.

The movie will feature popular stars like Jagathy Sreekumar, Indrans, Mamukoya, Anoopchandran, Jayakrishnan, Alensier, Punnapapra Appachan, Margi Sathy, Manju Pillai, Rajitha Madhu, Krishnaprabha and Revathy.

K G Jayan will handle the cinematography of this movie which will be produced by the director himself.
