The passing away of Kalaigniar Karunanidhi has left an irreplaceable void in the Indian politics and more so in Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) which he headed for the past 50 years. The election for the new chief and the new treasurer is scheduled to be conducted on 28th August and the withdrawal date is today the 27th.
The organizational secretary R .S. Bharathi has just now announced that Stalin and Duraimurugan have been elected unopposed for the DMK party President and Treasurer. The formal announcement will be made by senior leader K. Anbazhagan tomorrow. We congratulate Stalin and Duraimurugan for their assuming the new roles in their party.
