Veteran Lyricist Na.Kamarasan is no more

Veteran lyricist Na.Kamarasan has passed away in Chennai after suffering a prolonged illness. He was 75 when he breathed his last.

Born in Theni district, Kamarasan took part in the anti-Hindi agitation spearheaded by the Dravidian movement in 1960s. He worked as a Tamil professor and then worked in the Secretariat as an officer in the Translation department. He later entered film industry as a lyricist through the MGR starrer 'Pallandu Vaazhga'. He also wrote lyrics for the films of stars such as, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.

Kamarasan is survived by wife Logamani, son Dileepan and daughter Thaippavai. The last rites of the departed soul will happen at his native village in Theni district this evening.
