When is '2.0' releasing - Jan or April 2018? Here is the official confirmation

A few months ago, it was officially confirmed that Superstar Rajinikanth's '2.0' will be hitting the screens on January 25, 2018 for the Republic Day weekend. Prior to the it was expected that the film will hit the screens for Diwali festival in October 2017. Once it was clear that '2.0' cannot make it to the screens for the grand festival of lights, the makers of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' announced that their film will hit the screens in October.
However last week, a rumour cropped up stating that '2.0' has been postponed again to April 2018 and 'Kaala' in which Rajinikanth is presently acting will be hitting the screens in January 2018 during the Pongal festival season.
This rumour was put to rest by Raju Mahalingam, the Creative Head of Lyca Productions which is producing '2.0' on an estimated humongous budget of Rs.400 crores.
Addressing the media at a grand function today, Raju Mahalingam clarified that they are planning to release '2.0' on January 25, 2018 as announced earlier. He also confirmed that the shooting has been wrapped up, "VFX works is going on and everything is on track".
The film being directed by Shankar is a sequel to the 2010 mega blockbuster 'Enthiran'.
