Lyca and Shankar to team up for 'Imsai Arasan' Sequel

Veteran comedian actor Vadivelu made a comeback in Kollywood after a long gap, with 'Thenaliraman' which failed to make any positive impact. He followed it up with 'Eli' last year which also failed to fetch the desired results.
While there is no official announcement about the Vaigaipuyal's next there have been speculations about a sequel to his blockbuster period-comedy 'Imsari Arasan 23aam Pulikesi' has been doing rounds for quite sometime. The film was the debut directorial of Chimbudevan who directed Ilayathalapathy Vijay in 'Puli'.
It is being said that Chimbudevan and Vadivelu will team up again for Imsai Arasan 2 and now things seems to be heading towards a positive result. Sources reveal that director Shankar and the Lyca Productions working together for '2.0' will team up again and produce the sequel with Vadivelu in the lead role and Chimbudevan as the director. We hear that talks about the project are going on and things are yet to be firmed up. It is worth recalling that Shankar had produced 'Imsai Arasan' under his S Pictures banner and released it in 2007
If the talks materialize, we can expect the Imsai Arasan sequel will be one of the biggest ever, period comedies in the history of Indian cinema,
