Lyca Productions has filed a case against director Shankar in the Madras High Court seeking a ban on him to direct any other film before the completion of the Kamal Haasan starrer 'Indian 2'.

The leading production house has stated in its petition that the initial budget of 'Indian 2' was rupees 150 Crores but to date rupees, 236 Crores have been spent. A salary of rupees 40 Crores was fixed for director Shankar and already rupees 14 Crores have been paid to him is also mentioned.

The High Court refused to stop Shankar from directing any other film before the completion of 'Indian 2'. The director known for grand spectacle projects has signed on to direct Ram Charan Teja in a new film produced by Dil Raju. He has also committed for a new Hindi film starring Ranveer Singh as well.

'Indian 2' the sequel to the 1996 film from the Kamal-Shankar duo has been marred by many issues ever since it was announced including a change in the production house, a makeup glitch, an accident on sets that claimed three lives and finally surgeries to hero Kamal and his political commitments.
