Novelty from the title is the most attractive issue for film makers. The banner of Khara Entertainment headed by Mukesh Hegde of Tulu films is spreading his wings in Kannada film production with his son Pranav Hegde as protagonist with two beautiful and chubby cheek heroines Ahalya Suresh and Radhika Rao.

‘Lungi’ is one of the forms of costumes among men. It is ‘Panche’ in some places and ‘Mundu’ in Dakshin Kannada region. However ‘Lungi’ is referred to colored costume parallel to Panche in the social life.

How come this ‘Lungi’ fit the film title? The protagonist considered as ‘Waste Body’ finally reaches top in his ‘Lungi Business’ says first time director Askhit Shetty.

Set to go on floor in the first week of February ‘Lungi’ screened making video of photo shoot and came before the media at SRV Theatre in Malleswaram.

Debutant director Akshit Shetty is using Mangaluru Kannada accent in this film and initial training was given to supporting actors and hero from Raj B Shetty (Ondu Motteya Kathe hero) camp. Akshit Shetty took part in India’s got Talent show. The protagonist is an engineer but he is fond of Yakshagana and culture. He is considered as dullard. On hearing such comment he goes on becoming a businessman. How the waste body becomes a best body is crux of the film says Akshit Shetty.

Deviating from his Papa business Pranav Hegde an architectural engineer is turning hero from this film. He looks handsome. He has worked as associate director in a few films. In this film he is culturally obsessed not jell with his friends.

In the Christian role is Ahalya Suresh, this is her third film. Adi Purana and Kamarattu Checkpost are other two films of Ahalya. A Mangalorean Radhika Rao is performing for the first time for big screen. She is projected as Mangalorean and that is easy for her.She is in a traditional role. In the past acted in TV serial ‘Mangaluru Hudgi, Hubballi Hudga’.

‘Lungi’ with caption ‘Priti Soundarya Samskrithi’ as caption has cinematography from Rijo P John. Prasad Shetty is scoring music for songs and he wants to give melody in his scorings.

 Manu Shedgar is editor, V Manohar, Deepak Rai, Roopa Varkadi, Jayasheela, VJ Vineeth, Prakash Tumunadi, Karthik of Rangitaranga, Sandeep Shetty, Jayaram Acharya, Mime Ramadas, Chetana Rai Mani, Jaya Krishnan and others are in the cast.
