Lucky when unlucky

Mishaps are generally seen to be acts of ill-luck.

That is what every one thought when writer Ravi Shankar (brother of actor Sai Kumar who himself going through career horrors) was recently hurt during the shoot of NTR Jr's film under the direction of B Gopal.

The writer was injured when a light fell on his head at the imposing set of the film. But nothing was serious.

Yet, in a sentiment and superstition-plagued industry, this was a major incident. The injury to the head was seen as a bad omen.

But life has a habit of confounding people at every turn.

Soon after the injury, it was learnt that Lawrence Raghavender, who was pencilled to direct NTR Jr in his next film Pedodu, was walking out of the film. It was not clear why he walked out of the film produced by Durga Arts.

But the interesting bit of news is not Lawrence quitting the movie. But it is about his replacement.

The man moving in his place is, you would not have guessed it, is Ravi Shanker.

Yes, he is the one who is tipped to direct NTR Jr. Of course, Ravi has directed a Kannada film before and NTR Jr was said to be very impressed with his effort.

Ravi is now involved in discussions with NTR JR and others and is busy coming up with a strong script to shore up the actor's sagging image.

He just had a hit on the head. But he is looking for the other kind of hit now.
