'Lucky' crown at 4th BIFFES

The South African in Zulu language 'Lucky' bagged the prestigious Golden Berunda trophy and cash prize of Rs.10 lakhs given by Government of Karnataka at the 4th Bengaluru International Film Festival that concluded on Thursday night at the international cinema section. On behalf of the team of 'Lucky' the actress of the film B Jayasri received the honor from Governor of Karnataka Dr Hansaraj Bharadwaj at a glittering closing ceremony of festival.

South Africa Zulu language film by director Avie Luthra has been selected by international jury.

The other awards are -

'When we Leave', Director German film by Feo Aladag, Rs.5 lakh Silver Berunda and International Jury special mention to 'No.89, Shimen Road,' director Haolum Shu of China.

NETPAC Award – by KFCC – Flyish Fish, Srilanka, Directed by Sanjeewa Pushpa Kumara, Rs.2 lakh cash award, Chitrabharathi award for Indian cinema – Noble Chow directed by Suman Ghosh, Rs.2 lakh, Kannada Cinema Section – Gandhi Smiles, directed by Krishn Joshi, Puttakkana High Way directed by B Suresha – share Rs.2 lakh, Chintu School Animation film by Seshagiri Yelameli get Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy award.
