Natural Star Nani has said that depressing the cinema ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh is an illogical step in the wrong direction. He spoke against the Jaganmohan Reddy government's policy to reduce ticket prices to historically low levels earier today.
"If the general store near a theatre makes more money than the theatre, which provides employment to many, it doesn't make sense. I am hearing news about ticket rates being as low as Rs 10, Rs 15, Rs 20," the actor said.
He indirectly said that he doesn't want to speak his mind fully because his movie's release is happening this Friday. Nani indicated that sensational YouTube thumbnails might put 'Shyam Singha Roy' in a spot.
The 'Tuck Jagadish' actor seems to feel that lowering ticket rates is paternalistic in nature. "It's insulting to the audience. If you say you can pay only this much and not more because you are incapable, it is nothing but an insult," Nani said.
Meanwhile, Botsa Satyanarayana has disagreed with Nani and said that the decision by the government to reduce ticket prices is not insulting at all. "We won't keep quiet if you levy as much as you want. We are with the common man," he added.
