'Love Story 2050' Merchandise launched

Bringing out different products that appeals to old and young alike based on the themes and nature of the films have lately caught the fancy of filmmakers.

An Hollywood import, this way of creating hype, more publicity, attractiveness, and raising money is a tested method for marketing the movies in the west.

Harry Baweja, had also thought upon creating and merchandising the products of his directorial venture and his son's debut film 'Love Story 2050'.

He saw his ideas becoming real on June 18 when Adlabs Films Limited and Baweja Movies in association with Cartoon Network Enterprises launched movie merchandise across five categories like publishing, Toys, Home Furnishings, Apparel and Novelty.

The products will be made available under the brand name of the famous kids channel POGO.

Spy gadgets, hovercraft, special masks, very attractive and stylish bed sheets, pillow covers, tops and tees for both boys and girls are the products that have been designed keeping the Sci-Fi futuristic theme of the film.

The products that are available in a range of colours also include exiting comics and different types of colouring books.

The most attractive from the whole of merchandise range is the cuddly robot pet Boo which will be always with the character played by Priyanka Chopra in the film.

The prices of the toys start from as low as Rs.49 to Rs.3459 and will be available across the stores in India.

On the occasion of unveiling the products Harry Baweja said that Cartoon Network Enterprises have done a great job to replicate the essence of 'Love Story 2050' in the products, which are very appealing to the young and old alike.

Executive Director for India and South Asia of Cartoon Network Enterprises, Mr. Jiggy George said that Movie merchandise is another tantalizing peak into what a movie has in store for its audience and its another touch point, promotional medium and yet a keepsake of an exciting dream world.

He also told that with the spy gadgets, hover crafts, interactive robots, the cute Boo doll, fun comics and the stylish and slick apparel and furnishings, Cartoon Network Enterprises hopes to uphold and build on to the anticipation of the biggest Sci-Fi Bollywood film- LoveStory 2050.

Saurabh Varma, Chief Marketing Officer of Relinace Big Pictures said that the company is extremely proud to be associated with the film that has already achieved an iconic status and with this endeavor Reliance see the concept of merchandising becoming a rage in the film industry with producers looking at such extensions for their films.

'Ayan' - From Malaysia to Zanzibar

Suriya starrer ‘Ayan’ was shot extensively in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The crew is now planning to shift to exotic locales in Zanzibar (part of the Eastern African Republic of Tanzania).
