Love In Singapore
'Love in Singapore'' is the title of the new Mammootty movie, in fact the first movie of the star in the New Year. If you are a little confused about the title ''which promises of a full fledged love story, that too with Mammootty, you are thoroughly mistaken. This is just another hilarious entertainer which tells about the love of the protagonist to live in splendour, even when he is forced to be in Singapore, a nation he hardly knows.
Mammootty is Machu in the movie, an orphan who became a big shot from his really difficult and modest beginnings as a petty scrap dealer. His rags to -riches story impresses Andrew Perreira, an NRI who is an industrialist in Singapore. He comes up with an interesting offer and invites Machu to Singapore. And once Machu gets the taste of international business and associated living styles, life is not the same for him. The Telugu actor Navaneeth Kaur debuts into Mollywood through `Love in Singapore' playing the heroine to Mammootty. She will be in the role of Diana, the daughter of Perreira in the movie. Also in the cast are Rafi-Mecartin regulars like Salimkumar, Suraj Venjaaramoodu, Harishree Ashokan, Bijukuttan Rajan P Dev, Lalu Alex and Nedumudi Venu. Young star Jayasuriya also appear in a brief role in the movie.
The real highlight of `Love in Singapore' is that, this is the first film directed by super hit duo Rafi-Mecartin with Super star Mammootty. Though the star has appeared in the Rafi-Mecartin script earlier in 'Mayaavi', it will be an interesting watch to know how the masters of quick wit has handled Mammootty in the lighter sequences. Rafi also turns a producer, through the movie made under the banner of M H M productions.
The music section of the movie is handled by Sureshperters who has set tunes to four songs written by Rajeev Alunkal and Santhosh Varma. Sanjeev Shankar handles the camera section. The movie distributed by Vysakha Release is expected to grace the theatres by the 23rd of this month.
