Love clashes with horror this weekend

From half a dozen releases in a single week, thankfully the crowd is much lesser this week with 'Luv Ka The End' and 'Haunted' being the only two new films to hit the screens. There isn't much to choose between the two films from the opening perspective. Since both films feature primarily newcomers and have also not been very aggressive in their promotion, not more than 30%-40% opening is on the cards.

While 'Luv Ka The End' is a teen comedy that should fetch school/college students, 'Haunted' has horror and 3D as it's selling points that should bring in young adults. For both films it is a wait and watch situation as a lot would depend upon the word of mouth. Having said that 'Haunted' has a slight edge due to it's 3D element. The curiosity of unknown should make quite a few interested in checking out how a horror film looks in 3D. However a clearer picture for both films would emerge not on Friday but by the time the first weekend comes to a close.

What works in favour of both 'Luv Ka The End' as well as 'Haunted' is that both have been made on controlled budget due to which chances of recovery are good. And if these films indeed turn out to be good then it is only going to be 'sone pe suhaaga' as the coming week doesn't throw much competition in the form of any major release.
