Losliya the Sri Lankan newsreader became a household name after her stint on 'Bigg Boss 3' hosted by Kamal Haasan in 2019. Her father Mariyanesan passed away today in Canada where he has been working for several years and efforts are on to shift his body to his home country Sri Lanka.

Losliya who is in Chennai due to her acting and modelling commitments was devastated by the news of her father passing away and with help from Vijay TV and 'Bigg Boss 3' housemates she is trying to fly back home to be with her family.

Losliya in her earlier interviews had revealed that she had not seen her dad for almost ten years since he left for Canada and it was a pleasant surprise to her when he visited her in 'Bigg Boss 3' house. However he showed a lot of anger towards her romance with Kavin but later cooled down and asked her to play the game well before leaving the house. That was said to be the last time she saw him as he immediately left for Canada having visited through arrangements made by the show organizers.

Losliya has shared that every day her father used to call her at 11 pm exactly and talk a lot to her and also had paid for her clothes and other needs that she used in 'Bigg Boss' even though he was working on a low salary abroad.

In June Losliya had posted a video in which she revealed that every Father's Day she used to call her dad but had forgotten in 2018 and he was very upset having waited for her call. In 2019 too she could not call him due to her being inside 'Bigg Boss 3' and only this year she called him promptly and told him how much she loves him and he too did the same.

It's really tragic that the young actress is bereaved this way with her father's body across oceans and her other family members too in Sri Lanka and the pandemic is hampering their travel. Hope she gets the strength to deal with her grief as all her fans are posting on social media.
