Vikramaditya Motwane, who was Bhansalis AD on Hum Dil Chuke Sanam and Devdas, and directed the highly acclaimed Udaan, has shown his mentor that it's payback time. His Lootera, co-produced by Balaji and Phantom, was being planned for a mid-February release, but now has been pushed to 29 March 2013, as there was an overlap of dates for leading man Ranveer Singh.
Ranveer who will be shooting with Kareena for Bhansali's Ram Leela will be unavailable to promote Lootera in Jan and Feb. Instead of postponing Bhansali's schedule, Vikram and the film's producers decided to go for 29 March instead.
Earlier because of heavy snowfall and also huge numbers of crowds, the shoot had been delayed.
With Lootera turning into an Easter release, it has become one of the most awaited films. Trade pundits say that like this year's Easter release Housefull 2, Lootera too has the capability of making it huge.
Directed by the celebrated Udaan filmmaker, Vikramaditya Motwane, Lootera is a classic period romantic thriller. Amit Trivedi is composing the music. The film marks the first-time pairing of Ranveer and Sonakshi, the industry's hottest newcomers after Band Baaja Baaraat and Dabangg respectively.
