Rajeev Ravi, one of those rare directors in Malayalam movie industry who gave absolute realistic movies for us. His recent venture Kammattipadam gained positive reviews among audience and critics. The film already marked as one of the best classic thrillers in Malayalam. Unfortunately censor board give an A certificate for this movie as it contain violent scenes in it also a major portion of the movie was chopped off too. But, director Rajeev Ravi announced that the audiences will get an opportunity to watch the scenes removed by the censor board, and the other deleted scenes, soon. Reportedly, the DVD version of Kammatipaadam will have a run-time of 4 hours.

The actual duration of the movie was 4 hours, but it was later reduced to 3 hours in order to make the movie more audience-friendly "There is a 4 hour version of Kammattipadam directors cut [sic]," the filmmaker's wife Geetu Mohandas wrote on her Facebook page. Vinayakan and Manikandan are the show stealers in this movie as they are getting splendid response from all over, for their amazing performance as Gangan and Balan. Dulquer Salmaan also did a good job as Krishnan and gave a matured performance. The movie, which will soon be remade in Hindi and Telugu, has already earned more than Rs. 12 crore at the Kerala box office in less than two weeks of its release. We are now waiting to watch the complete Kammattipadam treat. Hopefully the DVD will be release soon.
