On the other hand, there were reports that Lokesh Kanagaraj will be directing Superstar Rajinikanth in 'Thalaivar 171'. This project is said to be his next venture after 'Leo' and before 'Kaithi 2'. The acclaimed director almost confirmed the same today in the function. A fan asked when Kaithi 2 would commence and Loki replied, "I'm doing a film next. Kaithi 2 will begin after that."

One of the interviewers asked if he is going to direct Rajinikanth in his next, and he answered, "The announcement will come from the production house. I cannot reveal it now."
