Lokesh Kanagaraj to bring back the vintage Superstar Rajinikanth in ‘Thalaivar 171’? – Deets

Superstar Rajinikanth starrer ‘Vettaiyan’ is racing towards the finish line. The upcoming cop drama is directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Lyca Productions. This film is expected to be completed by Summer after which the actor will be commencing ‘Thalaivar 171’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

As per the latest buzz, Lokesh Kanagaraj has planned to use the de-aging technology in ‘Thalaivar 171’. The makers are reportedly planning to bring back Rajinikanth’s look from the ‘Thalapathi’ movie in this project. Notably, Loki already tried to use this technology in a scene in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vikram’ but it never saw the light as the work wasn’t completed in time.

‘Thalaivar 171’ is confirmed to be a stand-alone project. Lokesh earlier stated that this film is not about drugs but a different concept for a Superstar film. This project is touted to be one of the biggest action films in Rajinikanth’s career with a huge star cast. The shoot commences this April and the film is expected to hit the screens in Summer 2025.
