Director Lokesh Kanagaraj attained nationwide fame after he built a cinematic universe with the films - 'Kaithi', 'Vikram' and 'Leo'. The maker is all set to work with Superstar Rajinikanth in a standalone project (Thalaivar 171) next and has big plans for the LCU. Meanwhile, there is a hot buzz about the next LCU film.

Lokesh has already confirmed that he will work on Karthi's 'Kaithi 2' after 'Thalaivar 171' and it will be the next movie in LCU. It is a prequel story to the 2019 blockbuster 'Kaithi' and the fourth film of LCU. Actors Karthi, Narain, Arjun Das and Harish Uthaman will reprise their roles as Dilli, Inspector Bejoy, Anbu and Adaikalam respectively in Kaithi 2.

Recently, Narain was asked about the 'Kaithi 2' update in a Malayalam film event. The actor revealed that he and Lokesh are working on a 10-minute short film which will be released before 'Kaithi 2'. He added that the short film is about the origin of LCU and where it all began. The shooting of the short film is over and it will be released on Youtube/an OTT platform soon. This is going viral now.
