Lokesh Kanagaraj who made the pathbreaking anthology film 'Maanagaram' has been going from strength to strength after delivering the critically acclaimed blockbuster hit film 'Kaithi' starring Karthi. He made head turns when Thalapathy Vijay signed him on to direct 'Master' in which he managed the biggest casting coup of getting Vijay Sethupathi to play the villain.

It is now common knowledge that Kamal Haasan's Raj Kamal Films International has signed Lokesh to direct the mega project 'Thalaivar 169' that has Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. The young filmmaker is truly lucky to be associated with the biggest legends of Tamil cinema and if not for the coronavirus pandemic the shooting of this film would have already started at the beginning of August.

Now without a vaccine for the COVID 19 so many plans in the world has changed and so has the mega Rajini-Kamal-Lokesh Kanagaraj project according to reliable sources. Rajini has apparently decided that he would participate in any kind of shooting only when it is absolutely safe or in other words the virus is brought under total control.

It is said that Kamal has now asked Lokesh Kangaraj to write a new script for him and this project is expected to start by January 2021. Lokesh is double lucky because Kamal has also told him that he can direct 'Thalaivar 169' as soon as Rajini is ready to resume.

Only in the seventies and eighties directors like Balachander, S.P. Muthuraman and Rajasekhar were lucky enough to direct the two pillars of Tamil cinema back to back and now in the modern era it is without any doubt the enigmatic Lokesh Kanagaraj.
