Lokesh Kanagaraj made heads turn with his debut movie 'Maanagaram' starring Sundeep Kishan and Regina Cassandra and his very next film 'Kaithi' starring Karthi earned both critical acclaim and box office success.
Lokesh bagged the much-coveted Thalapathy Vijay film 'Master' as his third venture and the thriller is one of the most awaited films in Indian cinema expected to release early 2021 after the coronavirus pandemic ends. The film with music score by Anirudh Ravichander has the ensemble cast of Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das and Shantanu Bhagyaraj.
It is already common knowledge that Kamal Haasan has signed Lokesh Kangaraj to helm a megaproject that will have his friend and rival Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. The project tentatively titled 'Thalaivar 169' was planned to go on floors by the end of this year but once again COVID 19 played spoilsport. According to Kollywood insiders the project will once again take off only later next year as Rajini has 'Annaathe' pending and also both Rajini and Kamal will be busy with the Tamil Nadu general assembly elections.
The new buzz is that Lokesh Kanagaraj has signed a new project to be bankrolled by Tollywood producers Mythri Movie Makers for a huge remuneration. It is said that a top Telugu star has committed for the project and it will be a Tamil Telugu bilingual with famous actors on both sides in the cast. As of now this is the only information that we have and an official confirmation is awaited.
