After Rajath Ravishankar's Dev, Karthi had moved on to his next movie titled Kaithi, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of Maanagaram fame and produced by Dream Warrior pictures SR Prabhu. Kaithi has music by Sam CS.

Recently, the shooting of the film was wrapped, and director Lokesh Kanagaraj has revealed an interesting detail on the shoot of the movie. Reportedly, Kaithi was shot in 62 days, and all 62 days the shoot happened in nights, and there will not be a single day shot in the movie, said Lokesh.

The movie revolves around prisoners played by Karthi, Vatsan, Kanna Ravi and few others, and their planned jail break that spans over four hours in night. Kaithi does not have a female lead, and the movie which is currently in post production phase will begin dubbing soon.
